spinning brilliance

can you do a rubik's cube?
i can't.
our daughter emily went online to find out
how to solve the rubik's cube

i am impressed.
yes indeed
apparently there are 7 steps
to each color.
learning the algorhythms
would be complicated enough let alone solving it
in 6 min 50 sec.

go emily!!!

cow bay

this typifies a maritime scene in my mind:
wet rocks, rolling waves and wooden colorful houses in the background

there is a place at cow bay by the kids park
that we used to go to all the time with our
dog sandy
i decided to take the kids there

from the road you wouldn't even think you could make it down to the shore
it is wooded, with a narrow walking path
but as you go along it opens up
to a  beautiful vista of shoreline, rocks and beautiful sea scapes

it has always reminded me of scotland

it is one of my most favorite places to go
we had a great time meandering along the shore
looking for cool rocks
taking photos
and enjoying the roar of the sea

halifax

emily and i went for lunch on the waterfront in dartmouth
and enjoyed this view of halifax.

it was a gorgeous day.
we took the ferry over to halifax,
wandered along the waterfront,
watched some glass blowers,
met up with bob and matt
went to eastern passage for icecream
and then came back to karen and john's for BBQ.

another great day!

joy of my heart

it has been a couple of years since we were all together
it was wonderful to see all of them

emily and matt live in dartmouth
and david got a ride share from montreal
we only had one day with him but it was
still so good to be together.

we went for breakfast at a quaint little cafe in halifax,
wandered along the waterfront,
exchanging stories and laughing together about things
that families find funny.

it was a wonderful day together.
this was taken at the airport as we were saying goodbye to david.
it was hard to say goodbye to him
but we were thankful for the day together.

a treasured memory.

joyful reunion

since being back in canada we have been
so busy at our storage container that we really
hadn't seen many of our friends.

we were able to see alot of people in church in the morning
and that was so great

we were so happy that we were able to have a get
together with some friends in kelowna

josh, sarah, jon, eldon and marianne
came over to garth and brenda's
for pizza and a wonderful evening of
story telling, laughing, singing and worshiping the Lord
precious times!
my heart was blessed beyond words...
tears of surrender,
tears of joy.

josh smith is an amazing musician
he has made a great cd...
you can listen to some of his music here if you want
we have known him since he was a young lad
we are blessed to have such dear friends!
