twilight afterglow
what is something that you see in your day
every day?
day in, day out?
(other then family or friends or pets)
fields?
high rises?
floral gardens?
snowy trees?
billboards?
highway signs?
malls?
palm trees?
birds in flight?
playground swings?
a calm pond?
whatever it is that is part of your day
it often becomes so common place that we don't even
see it anymore
the one thing that is in my everyday is sunsets
i try very hard to continue to see the beauty in them
sometimes like last night we make special trips to watch
it set but it isn't much of a show
this evening as i was on the computer
i glanced up and saw the sky a blaze of color
i haven't walked down the 30 odd stairs down to the beach
since i pulled my achilles tendon
but tonight
i was drawn
i decided to take it s.l.o.w
i couldn't believe it when i got down there
i thought i was too late
but the sky just got better and better and better
the afterglow was worth the walk down to the beach
i hope that tomorrow you are able to see the beauty
that surrounds you
and perhaps it will even take your breath away again
and you will lift your eyes to heaven and say thank You

ReplyDeleteI'm an admitted sunset addict - I NEVER, EVER tire of them. While in Mexico I go down to the beach every evening in anticipation - there are lots of us and we clap when the sun goes down .. now cool is that. I wish we lived closer to the water - unfortunately geography gets in the way and the best I can hope for is a blush on the high clouds. So every time you post a sunset picture Debi, I sigh.

ReplyDeleteoh my goodness, this one is stunning! I love it. Unfortunately I think I missed this one :( However, Jess and I try to make it a point to see every sunset we can. They are just so stunning and all so different. It is amazing what you can see in a sunset. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteps...I also really like the picture of the moon. Sometimes when I'm not all that drawn in by the sunset, I will turn around and watch the moon instead. It's amazing what you can miss by focusing only on one or the other!
